This fine quality quartz crystal gemstone
specimen has the unusual and popular elongated shape.
The specimen is double terminated, as befits any A Grade Herkimer
quartz crystal. The termination's are special, as one has the traditional
shape, while the other is a chisel tip. A common termination point
occurs when six faces (or facets) join together to form a point. An
alternate is when the facets come together with a flat edge. This
is not as common, and referred to as a chisel tip.
Additionally, a small window facet is visible with a loop.
Viewing the quartz gemstone with a loop also sets off the minor specks
of anthraxolite. The anthraxolite is the reason I gave this Herkimer
Diamond an A
Grade and not AA
Grade rating.
After many attempts at photographing I came to the conclusion that
this fine crystal gemstone was quite camera shy. It is a fantastic
quartz crystal specimen that will be much appreciated when seen in
person. |
