| Notes: |
Water clear and eye clean, this quartz crystal is also double terminated. Even more interesting is the termination's chisel points. This type of termination is defined by a flat edge rather than a 'point'. This termination is more rare. A common termination point occurs when six faces (or facets) join together to form a point. An alternate is when the facets come together with a flat edge.
Externally, one of the facets has a mark where the hydrocarbon referred to as anthraxolite must have cooled and fallen away. A small cavity that appears to be an empty enhydro is present here as well. It can be seen in the top photo.
The quartz crystal is well shaped with crisp facet lines. It is a fine quality, double terminated Herkimer. |
