A well defined key mark steps into one of the facets of this high quality Herkimer Diamond crystal.
A key mark is recognized by an indentation that is usually a three or six-sided shape located on the crystal: it becomes more narrow as it steps into the crystal. It is a place where another Herkimer Diamond grew, but the two crystals did not coalesce as a cluster, instead became separate crystals. Metaphysically minded persons feel it is a crystal used to unlock the doors to healing concepts and aide in answering questions about the self.
The key mark in this gem can be seen from the front and back in the top photographs.
Due to the really reflective nature of this gem, the photographs do not do it justice. The clarity and hue befit a AA grade Herkimer Diamond crystal.
