This water clear quartz crystal has a bright hue.
One side of the stone has larger facets, giving it a more flat shape. It would be a good candidate for a ring.
There’s much local lore on how these diamonds were first discovered. One story claims that a couple of Revolutionary War soldiers found some loose diamonds in the dirt. They truly thought they were real diamonds and were sure they had struck it rich. When word spread to their commanding officer it was thought they could help finance the war. After a mineralogist examined the gemstones, alas, they were proved to be merely beautiful quartz crystals.
As with all AA grade Herkimer Diamonds; this clear quartz crystal has 18 natural facets and two terminations. |
