Twin crystals are described as two individual crystals that formed
side by side to the extent that part of their sides have merged
together. They can grow with different shapes as shown in the pictures
of these gemstones. Sizes and descriptions as follows:
- The smallest in the group, it measures 10x9.5x6 mm.
The crystals grew side by side at their centers, allowing each
to keep its' double termination points. Healed fractures make
the crystal cloudy, but glittery with many pastel rainbows.
- Excellent clarity and anthraxolite mark this 15.5x11.25x6
mm Twin and Tabby crystal. The twin definition is a bit of
a stretch, but one end of the Herkimer does have two small tips.
One gemstone possibly overtook the other during formation. Great
pictures.
- Largest in the lot, a 22.25x14.75x12 mm gemstone. Really
cool, the crystals grew point to point. Both have a round shape
with good clarity. Some internal growth occurrence spark bright
colors. Externally is a small spot of drusy that shows somewhat
in the picture.
All three gemstones have crisp facet lines and sharp termination
points as the pictures show.
