Two crystal gemstones, each with its own personality. One is water clear, the other a tabby crystal. Sizes and descriptions:
- This 15x11.25x6.25 mm crystal has the more unusual tabby shape (see picture below). A ”tabby” or tabular Crystal is recognized as a flat crystal, usually with etching or notches (major striations) on one side. This particular gem does not have the striations, but one side does have an interesting dotted texture that I've never seen before (it shows a bit in the bottom right picture).
One termination is sharp, the other point has a well defined key mark. External anthraxolite and it's markings are present on one side.
The clarity is much better than the pictures show. It's a pretty gemstone with a colorful sparkle from a clear round internal growth mark.
- This 14.5x12.5x8.5 mm Herkimer Diamond is water clear. A clear indentation is present where anthraxolite crystals cleanly separated from the Herkimer. The top left picture shows this well. It makes this tip all but complete but for this one facet. The other tip is complete, with a seven sided key mark resting next to it.
The awesome clarity and interesting shape make this a high quality B grade Herkimer crystal gemstone.
Both these crystal gemstones have a great feel to them, and as the pictures show, a great look as well.
