Both these Herkimer crystals have distinctive qualities as the pictures show. Sizes and descriptions are:
- One 9.5x6x4.25 mm bridge crystal, pictures below. A bridge crystal is recognized as a smaller crystal which is part in and part out of a larger crystal. This sweet clear gemmy has two bridge crystals, one can be seen clearly in the pictures below. The other shows best with a loupe. Also present when looked at with a loupe are a couple of tiny baby crystals. Bridge crystals are a bit rare and a very nice addition to a collection.
It's a complete, double terminated Herkimer Diamond.
- One twin crystal measuring 15.5x12x9.5 mm. A twin is recognized as two individual crystals growing side by side to the extent that part of their sides have merged
together. In this case, the crystals merged at the termination points. As the pictures show, it has a yin yang quality. The opposite sharp points are complete.
Externally, clear marks from anthraxolite and other crystals exist. Black anthraxolite and a wispy inclusion are suspended in the center, giving it a bit of a smokiness.
An affordable bridge and twin crystal set of Herkimer's to add to your quartz collection.
