These two diamond gemstones are shown in the images above and below. Both crystals have anthraxolite internally and externally. Anthraxolite looks like small bits of carbon suspended in or on the stone. It is actually bits of black fossilized organic matter.
Sizes and descriptions:
- A 16.5x13x9 mm crystal is shown in the four images above. A double terminated 10.5 mm crystal grows into a larger stone. With a loupe, an additional tiny double terminated crystal is seen. Most of the anthraxolite suspends itself within, giving this area a smokiness. Sporadic rainbows glimmer and overall clarity is fair.
- The 18.25x11.5x5.5 mm gemstone is a tabby crystal. It is shown in the four images below. It is double terminated with fair clarity. It has some interesting imprints inside and out.
Both diamond gemstones sparkle brightly as the images show. The anthraxolite is possibly from large cabbage-shaped seaweeds known as “Cryptozoon”.
