This large Herkimer Diamond fits nicely in the palm of your hand. It is a complete crystal with many large smooth facets. An interesting feature of this crystal is the double termination points. One is a sharp point, the other is referred to as a chisel tip. This type of termination is defined by a flat edge rather than a 'point', it's more rare.
Externally marring is present, the largest area being crystallized anthraxolite (see pictures). It gives the overall Herkimer a deep hue.
Also, one of the larger facets sports an indentation that occurred when a small bubble of liquid exploded; most likely due to temperature changes. This would be referred to an a blown out enhydro.
Rainbows from the many healed fractures and other natural growth occurrences are abundant. Some facets reflect oil slicks of rainbows while others glimmer deep sparks.
Even though there is much cloudiness overall, several clear areas are present.
Some areas inside have a mirror quality.
If terrific rainbows in a large healing Herkimer Diamond are what you're looking for, this double terminated quartz crystal is it.
