A group of high quality D grade clear and smoky quartz crystals. Sizes and descriptions:
- This 9.5x6.5x5 mm crystal is complete, however, the terminations are blemished. The majority of facets are smooth. Anthraxolite, both inside and out, makes it the smokiest of the group. Clarity is fair.
- Another smoky quartz is the 11x8x5.75 mm crystal. As above, it's complete with marred terminations. Majority of facets are clean and smooth. Shallow and well defined key marks show well with a loupe. Nice inclusions as well. Clarity is very good.
- A 12x5x6 mm cluster. The clear external marring gives this elongated crystal sparkle. The deep hue is due to the external anthraxolite. A couple of baby crystals near one tip show with a loupe.
- A 13x11.5x8 mm Herkimer with a clean tip and gumball shape. Clarity is cloudy.
- The 16.5x11x9.5 mm is the best. The minimal external marring is clear, adding depth to the overall gem. Anthraxolite is completely internal and crystallized creating some crisp deep rainbows. There is more anthraxolite in the stone than what the pictures show. Both terminations are just there, but sharp.
This group of clear and smoky quartz crystals is good quality for D grade Herkimer Diamonds. |
