This is a large piece of Herkimer quartz crystal that weighs 10 oz / 284 g.
Clear areas are interspersed with cloudy. Smoky areas are present as well. Healed fractures and inclusions reflect rainbows throughout the stone.
The image above shows a large key mark at the bottom of the stone. This is a place where another crystal grew, but did not fuse, leaving it's imprint.
Several large smooth facets feel good to touch. It's an economical large piece of Herkimer quartz crystal.
