| Notes: |
This quartz crystal specimen has one unusual growth pattern difficult to explain. One side of the gem has a crystal wall that forms a T shape (seen best in images below). The anthraxolite present leads me to believe larger pieces of it formed here and fell away, leaving this unusual formation.
The specimen has much more going for it as well. A clearly defined bridge crystal extends 5 mm from one facet. The point has a matrix mark.
A trace of iron oxide is trapped in one of the healed fractures, giving the crystal a yellow hue and golden healer properties. The healed fractures strike rainbows.
One of the quartz crystal's termination tips has an unusual frosted key mark. The other tip a slight matrix mark.
With good clarity, this quartz crystal specimen has many unusual attributes. The images represent it well. We have never seen a formation this rare before, it could be a museum piece. |
